Stadsarkivet är koordinator för EU-projektet City memories - Visualizing change in three European capitals som är ett samarbete mellan stadsarkiven i Budapest, Köpenhamn och Stockholm. I fokus står städernas byggnadsritningar och målet är att hitta nya sätt att göra dem tillgängliga och användbara.
Stadsarkivets delprojekt innebär att ta fram metadata kring de kvinnor som förekommer i Världsminnet - Stockholms bygglovshandlingar åren 1713–1874. Detta görs bland annat med hjälp av fastighetsregister och andra relevanta register på Stadsarkivet. Ny metadata ska sedan läggas till i Bygglovsdatabasen som samlar alla byggloven i Stockholm under den perioden.
Målet med projektet är bland annat att hitta nya sätt för samarbeten och metodutveckling inom kulturarvssektorn i Europa för att öka tillgängligheten och användarvänligheten kring det utvalda materialet. Det övergripande målet är sedan att öka förståelsen för Europas kulturarv för att på så sätt bygga en hållbar och inkluderande framtid.
Projektet pågår sedan februari 2023 och avslutas med en konferens i Stockholm under hösten 2024. Under projektets gång pågår flera delprojekt i de olika medverkande städerna med bland annat workshops, utbildningar och möten.

City Memories aims to develop new ways of serving demands and usages for architectural building drawings and make them more available, well interpretable and enjoyable for targeted user groups.
The project brings together archive professionals from the City Archives of Stockholm, Copenhagen and Budapest with experts in urban history, technology and architecture, in order to explore innovative practices and methods for interpretation and presentation of the drawings. Partner institutions are Stockholm University, the Óbuda University and Contemporary Art Centre in Budapest, the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, and the Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, Italy.
The collection of building drawings in Stockholm City Archives is declared a Memory of the World. Programmes, lectures and publications from the project will be open to all citizens on site and also accessible online.
